Nanos is a lightweight kernel designed for a single application, running in a virtualized environment. It abandons common OS features such as multi-processing, user management, and SSH, and focuses on the efficient execution of a single program. Combined with ops tools, it can be quickly built and run on Mac and Linux through KVM/HVF acceleration, and supports deployment to mainstream cloud platforms.
